Yes. AI Math Coach is FERPA compliant. Student data submitted through the platform is encrypted both when it is transmitted and when it is stored, is never sold, and is never used to train AI models. For district accounts, a signed Data Processing Agreement must be in place before the student work upload feature can be enabled, and all student data is deleted within 30 days of a contract ending. Individual subscribers have access to the upload feature right away. Teachers are also encouraged to de-identify student work before uploading whenever possible, in line with FERPA's own de-identification standards. The student work upload feature is turned off by default for district accounts. To activate the feature for a district, a signed Data Processing Agreement must be in place. Districts that are active members of the TEC Student Data Privacy Alliance can enable the feature by submitting an Exhibit E through the Alliance. Districts that are not TEC members can contact All Learners Network to request a district-specific DPA.
