Business Manager

All Learners Network (ALN) is an organization dedicated to equitable access to quality math instruction for all students. It is the mission of All Learners Network to empower educators with high quality professional development and tools to improve math understanding for all learners. We achieve this through providing in-person and virtual professional development for schools and districts; virtual workshops; on-demand courses; math instructional resources; collaboration spaces for peer communities; and virtual coaching. Who We Need

We are looking for an experienced and flexible professional to join our finance team. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer, but will work closely with our Chief Financial Officer and Director of Operations.

They should be able to manage core financial and administrative operations with accuracy, discretion, and a strong sense of ownership.

The Business Manager will serve as a key partner to the organization, ensuring payroll, billing, and financial reporting run smoothly. This role is crucial for supporting the Admin Team with the visibility and operational rigor needed to sustain ALN's growth over time.

Our organization works to operate with transparency and honesty in our communications and processes. This role will have access to sensitive company information so discretion is a must. The Business Manager will collaborate closely with the Admin Team on these sensitive topics.

The right person for this job will embrace learning about the field of education in math and how ALN does what ALN does. This understanding will help shape the role in their decision-making. Achieving sustainable growth is, of course, a major part of our organizational goals, though we always work to do so without compromising our mission.

What You'll Do

  • Accounts Receivable: Manage client billing and invoicing processes.

  • Accounts Payable: Manage bills and expenses. 

  • Financial Reporting & Projections: Support the admin team with financial reporting and projections.

  • Budget Management: Support Admin Team in managing the annual budget across teams/departments.

  • Compliance: Handle compliance-related tasks to support general business operations.

  • Improve Processes: When learning existing ALN processes, identify areas for improvement through greater efficiency, visibility, etc. 

  • Support Business Strategy: Leveraging knowledge of expenses and financial data, support the Admin Team in building and maintaining ALN’s strategies and long term moves.

  • Benefits Administration: Support Operations team in administration and management of company benefit programs. 

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in business operations, finance, or administration is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.

  • Experience with QuickBooks is required.

  • Familiarity with HubSpot and Airtable is a plus.

  • Familiarity with software integrations and automation is a plus. 

  • Exceptional ability to communicate professionally and accurately, with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills necessary to manage multiple financial and administrative responsibilities.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive financial and personnel information.

  • 100% in-person (Burlington, VT office) prioritized; hybrid potential for the right candidate. Fully remote is not available for this role.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small organization where you will work across teams and projects with relative frequency. 

Compensation

Base Salary Range:

$75,000-$85,000 USD. Final Offer subject to candidate experience.
