Business Development Representative (BDR)

FULL-TIME  ∙  IN-PERSON, HYBRID, or FULLY REMOTE ROLE

Who We Are

All Learners Network (ALN) is an organization dedicated to equitable access to quality math instruction for all students. ALN’s mission is to cultivate a community of educators who promote math equity and inclusion for all students. We achieve this through providing in-person and virtual professional development for schools and districts; virtual workshops; on-demand courses; math instructional resources; collaboration spaces for peer communities; and virtual coaching. We’re a team of mission-driven professionals committed to equitable access to quality math instruction for all students.

Who We Need

We are looking for an experienced and flexible sales professional to join our sales team. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer. They should be able to succinctly communicate ALN’s mission and value proposition while maintaining a high volume of outreach to prospective customers.

The BDR will serve as the initial point of contact with school district contacts, primarily engaging administrators and curriculum leaders. This role is crucial for developing and qualifying a robust sales pipeline, setting the foundation for successful partnerships with K-12 schools focused on improving math outcomes.

Our sales organization is mission first, deal second. The ALN sales culture is not one of “elevator pitches” and intentional disguising of information - we pride ourselves on transparency, honesty, and integrity within our communications and processes. Collaboration with our other departments is key in understanding updates to our approach, math content, and more. The right person for this job embraces this wide understanding of our organization and uses it to further their skill in discussing options and opportunities with our customers.

Being comfortable with the ups and downs of working on a salary that is supplemented by incentive pay is critical to feeling at home in this role. It offers great rewards if you are willing to plan ahead and be tolerant of the risk that some months could be less lucrative than others. Our sales cycle is subject to some cyclicality which will be discussed with all applicants during the interview process.

What You'll Do

  • Prospecting: Execute high-volume, targeted outreach (calls, email, social media) to engage key decision-makers, including Math Coaches, Curriculum Directors, and Superintendents.
  • Value Proposition Delivery: Articulate the clear, compelling value of our All Learners Online platform, AI Math Coach, and in-person Professional Development options as a solution for improving math instruction and intervention nationwide.
  • Lead Qualification: Qualify prospects using your previous experience and common sales methodologies to ensure high likelihood of quality meetings for the Account Executive team.
  • Pipeline Generation: Successfully schedule and secure initial discovery meetings for the Account Executive team.
  • CRM Management: Maintain clean records of sales activities, prospect interactions, and key account intelligence within the company's CRM system (HubSpot).
  • Collect and Share Feedback: Collaborate with other Revenue Team staff (Marketing + Sales) to continuously refine messaging based on prospect engagement and market trends as observed during prospecting and outreach tasks.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills necessary to handle a high volume of daily outreach activities and maintain a healthy pipeline.
  • Working proficiency with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, ZoHo, etc.) and sales engagement platforms (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft, Gong) is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small organization.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support exhibiting at certain regional and national conferences, subject to promotional and conference schedule.
  • 100% in-person (Burlington, VT office) and hybrid applicants may be prioritized, but we are open to a fully remote position for the right candidate. All are encouraged to apply.
